Senior Megyn Byrnes (Mahopac, N.Y. / Mahopac) took third in the all-around competition with a score of 37.850 and second on beam with a score of 9.675, her third highest score of the season, as the Terrapins finished third with a score of 189.300 behind East Atlantic Gymnastic League rivals Towson (191.850) and New Hampshire (190.725).

Junior Jenny Engel (Monrovia, Md. / Linganore), filling in for the injured Stacy Breidenbach, also performed well as she competed in the all-around for the first time this season. She scored a season-high 36.775 to finish fifth, and also set a season-high on beam with a 8.875.

On vault, freshman Jodi Morgan (East Petersburg, Pa. / Hempfield) finished fourth and sophomore Shelly Hernandez (Silver Springs, Md. / Montgomery Blair) and junior Christine Holcombe (McMurray, Pa. / Peters Township) tied for fifth.

Senior Alexis Moran (Minersville, Pa. / Minersville) led the Terps on bars, as she scored a 9.600 with sophomore Rachel Dolbin (Pottsville, Pa. / Pottsville) and Christine Holcombe finished behind Moran with a score of 9.575.

The beam portion of the meet saw Megyn Byrnes take second place, but also saw freshman Jenna Murphy (Canton, Mass. / Canton) and Alexis Moran post season-highs with a 9.575 and a 8.725, respectively.

Christine Holcombe took fourth place on floor with a score of 9.650 and Shelly Hernandez scored a season-high 9.050.

The all-around competition had Megyn Byrnes, Christine Holcombe and Jenny Engel take third, fourth and fifth with scores of 37.850, 37.700 and 36.775.

The Terrapins fall to 14-8 overall and 3-5 in the EAGL. Their next meet will be on Saturday, March 7, 1998 at the Bubble Invitational hosted by N.C. State. The meet pits the Terrapins against William & Mary, Central Michigan, James Madison and host N.C. State and begins at 7 p.m.
